Until now the free edition has remained on the v5.3 codebase. This has been downloaded over 4 million times and has a very active user base. For business users this can be extended to include phone support and annual renewal for ongoing support.įor home users who only need to do occasional clones or ad hoc full backups, we have always had a free edition. As always, with a purchase of v6, Macrium’s renowned support is included. v6 is a large step forwards in speed, simplicity and flexibility. It's very easy to use and can really save your life! If you are looking for alternatives, we recommend you to try Acronis True Image and EaseUS Disk Copy.In February we released Macrium v6 including one edition targeted for home users and a further three for business users. If you care about the safety of your documents, take a moment to create a mirror image of your hard drive with Macrium Reflect. Also, Macrium Reflect lets you create rescue disks, but unfortunately only for Linux, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. What doesn't seem that easy is the scheduled backup tool: it works with XML template files and novice users will surely find it confusing. Macrium Reflect is very easy to use because it lets you create images via an assistant that guides you through the whole process in just a few simple steps. Of course, disk images don't make sense if you store them on the same hard drive you're copying, so you'll need to use an extra storage device (external or not) or a networked drive to save your mirror image.
